Program Description: The Family Support & Resource Centers are regionally located throughout Hillsborough County to meet the needs of families from all walks of life. All programs and services at the Centers are free of charge to any family or individual. Programs include: GED (General Equivalency Diploma): Come to the Center and earn your High School Diploma! ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages): Learn to read, write and speak in English and to use mathematics at a level necessary to function at work and in society in general. Growing Together Play Group: A 6-week developmental playgroup that provides the necessary stimuli for the walking one-year-old. Parents will learn games and activities that expand brain connections. Wonder Years Play Group: A 6-week developmental playgroup for 2-3 year olds with activities, singing & stories that help children feel good about themselves, learn social skills and develop thinking & talking skills. Coffee & Careers: Write or edit your resume, search online, search the classifieds, practice for an interview, fax or e-mail your resume or application. Homework Tutoring: After school help in all subjects for students. Popcorn and a Movie: Watch a great movie while enjoying popcorn with friends! Computer Access with Internet: For work, school, educational programs such as typing, Spanish, English or service related searches. Basic Computer Class: Learn how to use basic programs for work or school. Parent Education Class: Provides communication skills, understanding children's behavior and discipline that makes sense, as well as other topics. Breastfeeding Class: Learn the basics of breastfeeding. Childbirth Class: Learn the basics of childbirth. Car Seat Safety Class: After viewing a presentation on how to pick the appropriate car seat and secure it correctly, you will be able to do it hands on! (Sponsored by St. Joseph's Hospital Child Advocacy Center) Immunizations: Keep up-to-date on your childs immunizations. (Sponsored by St. Joseph's Hospital Child Advocacy Center) CPR/First Aid Classes: Calling all parents, grandparents, babysitters and anyone who cares for children. Come learn a life-saving skill! (Sponsored by St. Joseph's Hospital Child Advocacy Center) Childrens Play Area: Come in and play with your children anytime. We have games, toys, books and more! Parent-to-Parent Discussion/Support Groups: Information and sharing. Book Check Out: Informational books on children, families, mental health, etc. Clothes Closet: Gently used clothes for men, women and children. Medicaid Information (MomCare): Provides women seeking coverage for their pregnancy a simplified application process which includes a one-page application and notification of eligibility within 10 business days. FCAT (Florida s Comprehensive Assessment Test): Tutoring sessions provide students with strategies for taking the test, with assistance in answering the questions, and with a review of the material that is on the test. Referral Services: Information and resources for you and your family. Well help you find specific services and information. Parent/Child/Preschool time Cyber Mobile: Provides free Spanish library services and introductory Spanish computer instruction. Family Community Advisory Council: Come and participate in a group of community people.
