While I have attended many civil mediations in the past, I had never attended a mediation conducted by the Florida Commission on Human Relations. I must tell you I had no expectations this claim could be settled. I am happy to report that due to the efforts of our [Florida Commission on Human Relations] mediator, the parties were able to reach an equitable resolution. Our mediator was well versed concerning the circumstances surrounding the claim, exhibited considerable knowledge and asked pointed questions which clarified the issues. Without the mediator’s help and command of the mediation process, I certainly do not believe we would have reached a resolution. I am not in the habit of writing letters of this type, however, I thought you should know what an outstanding job our mediator did to bring closure to a difficult situation.
